CHARLES SCHWALL, President
Charles directs the firm’s construction and management staff in providing excellence to clients. Prior to founding Precision Building & Construction, LLC in 1995, he honed his management skills working as a supervisor in various construction settings, including concrete multifamily housing and steel high rise buildings. He also has an in-depth knowledge of construction materials and costs, which further enhances every project the company works on.Background
Charles began his professional construction career with woodworking 30 years ago. From the outset, he developed a strong appreciation for the incredible value of using the right tools. An avid, hands-on learner, Charles has supplemented his field experience the last three decades with courses related to woodworking, advanced civil engineering and historic preservation.
Commercial Construction
Commercial construction is a cornerstone in Precision Building & Construction’s foundation. Over the years, Charles and his team have built strong relationships with many large commercial clients, including Trammell Crow Company, Advance Realty Group, RCP Management Company and Levin Management. Charles recognizes the importance of his clients' time and has developed a creed of being "impeccable at meeting deadlines and working within a realistic budget, even if it means being incredibly persistent.”
Historic Preservation
Working on historic buildings dating as far back as the 1690s, Charles became steeped in the reverent use of historic materials and learned to be creative to make them work. He was privileged to mentor with Louise Bourgeois, a world-renowned artist focusing on renewable energy, as well as various renowned historic preservation architects throughout New Jersey.
From these talented people, Charles learned that "workmanship is only as strong as your weakest element," and that you must pay meticulous attention to details to deliver the quality of craftsmanship clients have learned to expect from Precision Building & Construction.
Community
Charles is a firm believer in giving time and energy back to the community. A former president of the Bound Brook-Middlesex Rotary Club, he is also a founding member of Preservation New Jersey and is a member of the Development Committee for the Heritage Trail Association of Somerset County and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Still in the formulation stage, he is planning interactive learning centers at historic landmarks to ensure that historic preservation skills and ethics are passed down through the generations. Charles’ vision to "preserve the past and build the future" truly resonates in the actions of Precision Building & Construction.
